Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has appeared on film and on television, and in stage productions, is known for her role as Teri Joseph, a flamboyant lawyer in the show the show on Showtime called Soul Food. After her wedding, she is also known as Nikki Kodjoe. While growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always intrigued by acting. Contractor Born from Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She had already experienced numerous travel experiences and cultures from a early age. At the age of seven until nine, Contractor went to boarding school in London. The family later moved to Toronto and she resided there through the majority of her childhood. Contractor was a wonderful pupil in Toronto and was educated to become the classical ballet dancer. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in arts) the student studied the theatre and dance. Contractor, who had been dancing for over 10 years by the time she was and decided to concentrate on acting. As she finished high school, she was offered an all-inclusive tuition grant to the University of Toronto where she studied theatre with a double diploma in sociology and psychology. Contractor was given the lead role in Pericles after a one-year stint at University. She was a part of the audition for the part in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. Her performance received rave reviews. her performance in the 92 shows performed the play was voted as the best production by Canadian critics in 2002. The conservatory at Stratford takes eight people with four females, as well as a few additional people to take a 20 weeks crash course. Contractor received a guaranteed place for the next season.
